Meet the Speakers

Nick Sevier is operations manager for the Turner Maryland office. He joined Turner in 2006 as a field engineer and has since held roles including engineer, estimator, cost engineer and superintendent. He also worked as the general superintendent on the 470,000-square-foot New Sibley Hospital, the 427,000-square-foot White Oak Medical Center replacement hospital for Adventist Healthcare, and the 263,000-square-foot new research and development laboratory for Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory.

Joe Xavier is senior director of health and safety for ABC National. Xavier has served in leadership, quality, health, safety and compliance roles since 1992. Most recently, Xavier was the CEO of Summit Sustainability Solutions, advising construction, manufacturing and hospitality clients in the mid-Atlantic region on safety and health risk control and prevention. His company was a member of ABC of Greater Baltimore and facilitated the chapter’s Safety Professional Peer Group.

Meet the Moderator

Tia Perry serves as director of inclusion, diversity and equity at Associated Builders and Contractors and is a member of the executive management team. Perry is a results-driven leader with more than 16 years of association experience, the last seven years of which have been focused on advancing inclusion, diversity and equity efforts.
