Anirban Basu, ABC chief economist, will present Construction Executive’s 2023 Construction Economic Update and Forecast on Dec. 14.

As a year of recovery and growth wraps up and a year of uncertainty looms ahead, Basu will review up-to-date construction and general economic metrics as well as his predictions for the future. During his presentation, he will address the possibility of a recession along with the latest on jobs and unemployment, inflation and its effects on the industry.

Basu’s forecasts frequently reference the Architecture Billings Index, ABC’s Construction Backlog Indicator and the Inputs to Construction Producer Price Index, among other industry sources, to provide a full picture of the state of the economy.
